The Economic and Social Development Committee
Between 2002 and 2004, Mike chaired the London Assembly’s Economic and Social Development Committee and
led for the Liberal Democrats on regeneration and related issues, from inner
cities to outer suburbs, including affordable housing, unemployment, low pay,
small firms, the City, inward investment and the impact of globalisation.
Some of the topics addressed by the Committee are listed below.

Panel which recommended an alternative methodology for setting public sector

think about the economic and social regeneration potential of their own
activities.
